Philosophy of Education
The Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Program (Bilingual) at Thammasat University aims to produce graduates with internationally recognized professional competencies. Graduates are expected to be modern leaders who serve the public, provide holistic oral healthcare in a global society, and uphold the highest standards of professional ethics. The program also emphasizes lifelong learning skills through an outcome-based education (OBE) approach, which is delivered via active, integrated, and experiential learning.
DDS Curriculum Overview
The DDS Bilingual Program at Thammasat University is designed based on the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach, focusing on achieving the desired learning outcomes of the program (Program Learning Outcomes PLOs). The curriculum is structured into three main components:
1. General Basic Courses
2. Medical and Dental Sciences
3. Life Skills and Dental Professionalism
General Basic Component
This component is built upon two core educational concepts designed to cultivate a deep understanding of humanity and global citizenship. These principles form the foundation for becoming dentists who provide holistic oral healthcare in international societies. Students begin by learning to understand themselves and others, develop communication skills across various levels and forms, and interact effectively within diverse social contexts.
The curriculum also encourages students to become active global citizens who are aware of their roles and responsibilities in both Thai and global communities. In addition, it fosters an appreciation for knowledge, research, innovation, and technology necessary for effective daily living.
